Cast in a Brothers Grimm setting, Troop 360's Haunted Hike is a community event geared toward youth aged 7-12. As you walk through the scary, dark forest, you will come across a variety of haunted scenes. Some may make you laugh, others will drain you of your courage! Either way, this mysterious trek is sure to get you in the mood for Halloween. Everyone is welcome, so bring your whole family, but please be aware that is can be too scary for some younger hikers.
If you're up for a hike through the woods and a good old-fashioned scaring, put on your hiking boots and join us for an evening of classics like: grave scenes, monsters jumping out at you from the bushes, creatures ambling through the fog, rabid animals howling in the distance, and yes, perhaps even... zombies!!
Cub Scouts! Grab an adult and join the rest of the Scouts in the Aquila District for a fun morning or afternoon of bowling! Scouts and Scouters from all over the district will converge on Hiline Lanes for some pin-crushing action this November. This fun event is open to all kindergarten through fifth grade girls and boys. Not a Cub Scout? New Scouts are also eligible with a Cub Scout application at the door!
The Toy Fair, in operation since 1977, is a grand-scale service project that assists social service agencies in King County in supporting the needs of people in our local communities. Each year social service agencies are invited to participate and select toys and gifts for distribution to recipients of all ages.
Scouts from Packs and Troop in our District donate home-made, quality gifts to warm the hearts of the needy during the holiday season. The contributions every person makes to support this service are greatly appreciated. We look forward to your help in our efforts to expand the outreach of this project so we can touch the lives of as many families as possible.
All Scouts and Webelos are invited to re-enact the historic gold rush to the Klondike. Scouts will pull homemade sleds from Skagway to Dawson. En route they will encounter problems that require basic Scout skills and teamwork to overcome. Leading up to the event, Scouts will build their own Klondike sled, but Scouts (not dogs) will be powering the sleds through the snow. Get out in the snow, test your mettle, and see how your Patrol or Den fares in this annual favorite!
Ahoy there matey! Join the other Cub Scouts in the District for a fun morning of making and racing sailboats at top speed! Cub Scouts will build sailboats and race them against each other to see who has the fastest boat. Races will take place in our water filled raingutter race courses, with Cub Scouts powering their boats by blowing on the sails. Scouts are encouraged to invite a buddy who is new to Scouting to join them in the regatta.
What's more fun than crafting the coolest, fastest, car around and racing it at top speed against all your buddies? Getting to do it twice! The Aquila District Pinewood Derby is the culmination of the individual Pack Pinewood Derby events each year. Scouts are invited to bring the cars they made for competition in their Pack's events for a fun day of competition and prizes against other Scouts from all over the District. There are seven race classes including Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos, Non-Scout 13 and under, Teen-Adult, Adult Unit Challenge, so we welcome all competitors. Trophies will be awarded for the top three finishers in each class. Medals will be awarded for all other participants.
The First Aid-O-Ree is a fun competition where Patrols from various Troops in the District compete against each other by solving and acting out different first aid scenarios. It is a great opportunity for Scouts (and adults) to reinforce their first aid knowledge by practicing their skills in several real life scenarios. Scouts in each Patrol will take turns demonstrating their leadership under challenging and unexpected conditions. The goal is that each Scout would leave at the end of the evening with more knowledge and skill in first aid, and confidence in his abilities.
The Aquila District Volunteer Recognition Night is a special celebration of the adult volunteers in our Packs, Troops, Crews, Ships, Teams, Posts, and District. We have a fun get together with great people, good food, and a ceremony to thank the many volunteers for the excellent work they do for our Scouts.
Have you thanks your volunteers yet? Here's your chance! If you've already thanked your volunteers at a Unit event, this is an opportunity to make an even bigger impact. It also gives your volunteers a chance meet other volunteers who have gone above and beyond in their efforts. The excitement and energy from this event will flow right back into your Unit!
Shake off winter and visit Schoenwald Park for a day of fun outdoor experiences! Youth Outdoor Adventure Day will be a free day of fun activities open to the public, for boys and girls aged 5-12. Planned activities include: archery, pinewood derby, rock climbing, BB shooting, dutch oven cooking, orienteering, fire building, wrist rockets, geocaching, robotics, and s'more!
Join 400-500 of your fellow scouts from the Aquila and Green River Districts for a huge weekend of camping, exciting competitions, cooking, games, races, and campfires! All Boy, Explorer, Girl, Varsity, Venturing, and Webelos scouts are invited to participate in this fun-filled weekend. Scouts setup their own camps complete with custom gates, and compete against teams from other units in unit sponsored games of skill, knowledge, and strength. They also cook their own meals, race in chariots they built, and entertain each other with hilarious skits and songs around the campfire each night. Nothing could be better!
